Peace Comes Softly

Highway rides on
Swallowed by the miles
Stretching a horizon away

Speak, cry out loud
The Voice responds in haste
Faster than miles fly

Words to comfort
Words of rebuke
Words for life

Stomach roils, mind rebels
Hills and curves pass by
Familiar yet so new

Eyes that See
Ears that Hear
Soften hardened hearts

Trees and crops
Green and alive
Wind blown and free

Cry of the Joy
Shout the Peace
Of a Love so Free

Not mine
Not yours
Ours

Stop sign looms
Turn right or turn left
Destination so clear

Let go of the fear
Embrace the One
Who Faithfully steers

Arrive on time
Peace sustains
Day glorious long
